Hello, hello, hello!
Very, very sorry I haven't posted lately like I promised, but this can only mean i'm working hard, so be proud! I'm working on something to post in the upcoming week which will show my development process for a piece coming up soon, as well as the ideas for my final major project, so keep the faith for another week or two!

Something a little bit different
First of all I apologise for my lack of posting, the arrangement of my portfolio is colliding with the end of a project and because of that i've been too busy doing work to actually show it to anybody. Good news is i'm working super hard at the minute and final major project is looming, meaning i'm full of inspiration and there's likely to be an awful lot of work being posted in the near future.
At the moment i'm focusing on making my work more experimental, which means that I often look at finished pieces and think that the work isn't good enough to show anybody, but this is a little piece of sketchbook work where I studied the features of the person and tried to recreate each one with a different material, to see if I could give my viewers a little bit more to look at than just a pretty picture.
This is more work on my Sonisphere 2012 project so i'm still trying to go for an alternative vibe, and the second one isnt quite finished yet, there's still a collage to do for a bandana. Materials range from a graphite stick to watercolours and ink and there's a lot of biro work lying underneath the paint, it doesnt come out too well in the photo.

Sonisphere Postcard
Another little piece of work based on Sonisphere 2012 (d'you think I might be a little bit excited?).
To make the drawing outlines I cheated a bit by drawing lines over an image of my friends, then deleted the image itself which left me with an (ever so creepy!) outline.
As this piece began as a piece of experimentation to work out how to do a textiles piece, I then set about adding images of material into the image, erasing the bits that weren't necessary after that all that was left to do was add a bit of text.
This piece is intended to be a souvenir postcard for the festival, a few more bits and bobs are coming a bit later on.

Project Title 3 : "Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll"
These images are gig posters created to advertise Sonisphere 2012 a heavy metal festival at Knebworth Castle in England.The image below is targeted at an alternative audience (typically ravers) and was made entirely on Photoshop. For the second poster I was targeting a typical metaller customer for the festival and conducted a lot of research into relevant material. I focused on tattoos in particular, drew up a line drawing of the planned image, scanned it into the computer, coloured the image and added the typography.

Project Title 2 : A Conceptual Interpretation of "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll
This project required me to choose a 20th Century artist and use his/her work as inspiration for my own. My artist of choice was Lucian Freud and I looked carefully at his painting techniques and how he indicates the facial structure using the directions of his brush strokes. The image below is an interpretation of one of his prints. The digital image below the print was more photoshop work in which I used imagery from "Alice in Wonderland" to make relevant backgrounds for an artists book, using the wallpaper designs of William Morris to create a Victorian influence on my work. I used the print studio to create a raven silhouette and then scanned the image to create the work on the left.
Project 3 : Investigation into Still life (I chose to blend human activities into the drawings of toys I created, so that I was, in a way, creating life in a still image, but using inanimate objects).

Tattoo Based Snake Poster
I'm on a roll today. Finished another poster for Sonisphere 2012, it's basically just a quick sketch, scanned in and coloured in. Sounds simple but it was actually more difficult to imagine the lighting on the computer screen that it would be on a page. Got there eventually though.
Again, based on the influences of Sonisphere's target market, this one focuses on tattoo art and I did a lot of research into different tattoo styles, eventually I went with an asian sort of style and worked that into the flowers. Every You Every Me Animation
Here's the stop motion animation I made for my A-Level Project. Came across it earlier today and decided to put it up here. It's a surreal collection of imagery which reflects being trapped and I was focused on creation/destruction as a sub-theme. Turned it into a proper music video when my art tutor commented that the piece needed a function.
